Your child has been using Baby Signs® to communicate to you. While It is human nature to want to communicate our needs, Babies don't have the complicated skills they need to speak. Long before they can form the words, they understand what a “ball” is, or what it is to “eat”. They just don't have the skills to express those thoughts.
The Baby Signs® Program is based on the groundbreaking research that began 20 years when Drs. Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn observed Linda's daughter, Kate inventing her own sign language. They then began researching the effects of using sign language with hearing babies and found significant benefits with signing babies. Please visit our research page to learn more.
The Baby Signs® Institute offers parent workshops and classes to teach parents how to use the Baby Signs® Program at home.
